Everyone makes mistakes. It is a part of human nature. As others have said before me, "I've made my share and yours, too." That being said, I have to change my opinion on human survival in the upcoming years.
I have always believed that people were good by nature, that if they did something wrong or bad it was because of undue influence, or a temporary lapse in judgment that they would feel remorse about later. That mistakes that we made, and are continuing to make, could be sorted out as we evolved as a people. That the current government in this country would eventually sort and balance itself out as logic overcomes all idiocy. I feel I have made a grievous error.
Just to be clear, let me state exactly what I am getting at:
You are a piece of shit, worthless lazy cocksucking manipulative waste of oxygen, and I am surprised that you made it this far without someone holding your enervated body below sea level just long enough for the spasms to stop.. No, I am not addressing dancers alone, I am speaking to everyone in the whole fucking world. Just about everyone.
I hate to sound like a cliché, but we humans are exactly like a parasite, suckling off the host. When there is a shortage do we share with those around us so that all people can have a taste, a piece of sustenance? Fuck no, we fight, claw, and suck harder to try to get it all for ourselves.
I am not above blame, by any means. In fact, I am a hypocrite because I will decry the amassment of material wealth while the entire time
I suck air I do the same thing. But I am learning.
Learning that it doesn't have to be that way. We can have an existence that is altruistic in nature and yet enjoyable for guys and gals like you and me to live out our days in. We can have a world in which we utilize our potential without making other beings, human, plant, or animal, miserable in the process. As an example I would cite early native American culture; they fall short only because they existed in a time prior to technology, and their propensity towards war with other tribes(I guess ‘Land Ownership' is a concept that they
do understand after all.)
Anyway, negativity aside, I will produce a solution to this dilemma; a solution so simple that you may be surprised that you did not think of it yourselves...Big surprise, it has nothing to do with our current government.
We need to start killing each other as quickly as possible. The best way to achieve this is by believing in a temporary anarchy.
Yep-anarchy, that's my new religion. Allow me to paint a scenario in which 'our plan' may take fruition, my little droogies....
Maybe with all the distractions involving the war, politics, gas, social policy, pompousness, immigration, religion, the policing, the violence; the general indulgence of self-absorption will lead to mistakes being made with the power grid for the city. As so often happens in the summer, the grid overloads and the power goes out. Now, usually there is a period of time before it goes back on, in which certain elements take advantage of the darkness to further their financial gain. This is not what I mean, I wait for the day that the grid can't be repaired for a week, a month, or indefinitely.
In this time, other cities fail too. Maybe we enter a real fuel crunch, whatever. Technology is offline. All the cameras, radios, music studios, televisions, microwaves, the internet, and other means of population control are null and the base element of humanity will surface.
It will be ugly, especially at night. The rioting will start because of the looting. (Right now you are thinking, 'I'm above that. It would take a lot more than that.' Bullshit-could happen in two weeks. A month-tops. How well do you really think you will hold up with no running water or electricity?) Citizens will start policing their own perspective areas, and the national guard will be called in. Now, hopefully, by this time, the problem is occurring in even
more areas across the country (or world.) Maybe we can even hope for sabotage to further it along, like in Fight Club. People will begin to lose faith that the order will be restored and the violence will get worse. Religious leaders will flap their gums...
At this time, the 'best real estate' will be in rural areas. The furthest from civilization will have an immediate advantage. To some extent, it would be advantageous to be the in urban areas; because of access to medicine, tools, food, and books(because most people will need to
read about survival techniques, how to hunt, basic sanitation, basic medicine,etc.) The urban areas would also provide access to people that want to work together, and that may be the beginning of the recovery process.
All this time I will be stocked with canned goods, water, and medical supplies. I will have thousands of rounds of ammo at the ready and I will join with the select few people I find that are like minded, survival minded, and we will ‘defend the fort' from anyone who would try to take our said canned goods, water, and medical supplies.
I can even foresee bodies piling up on street corners and in front of doorways of grocery stores, retail stores, and drug stores; people fighting and killing each other because greed, and this culture we live in that dumbs-down everything, prohibits sharing or cooperating. Probably the churches too, because desperate times call for desperate measures.
Once the military gets involved it's all over. The media that is left will distort the truth throughout the world, and soldiers will be deployed to their home cities, only to see them ransacked and destroyed by peoples ineptness and desperation.
Most people left in the structured part of society will see all this as failure of the current government. They will call for immediate reforms and measures to curtail the problem of growing lawlessness, but, as we saw with FEMA in New Orleans, when we have the worst problems if there is no financial gain to be had, the government reacts less than promptly. (To this point, look at how efficiently they are rebuilding with the real estate prices dropping. Big wigs can swoop in and play savior providing jobs, housing, stores, and entertainment, all the while making a killing off of a tragedy.)
Hopefully, the rest of the populous will be roused by the words of the founding fathers*, and will strike at the powers that be, plunging the rest of the continent into chaos.
Other world powers will see this as an opportune time to attack, and soon the survivors here will have to defend the shores with what is left of the military so as to avoid occupation by a worse dictator. The talking will start on how to rebuild and everyone will disagree and split into factions, the stronger, smarter, and better armed killing the weaker.
This process of elimination, or survival of the fittest, will translate into the establishment of a new American culture. We can yell "Down with King George", or whatever motto seems to fit as we pillage, destroy, and kill our way to peace and a new start.
Ahh, fantasy. Better than winning the power ball.
One final note,
Now that I support anarchy as a template for rediscovering a true democracy, many of you may think I have lost my mind. Or as my partner likes to say, "What the fuck have you been smoking?" So I say to you, is it really so far fetched to think this is a realistic solution to the problems that plague our country, our world, and humanity in general? Why not? From chaos comes order...As Thomas Jefferson said,
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants and patriots alike. It is its natural manure." *
...And as long as we're at it, let's kill the idiots, too.
